

Filipina weightlifter Elreen Ando salvaged a bronze medal finish for the Philippines on Monday, October 2, in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Ando placed third in the women's weightlifting 64 kilograms event after she lifted a total of 222 kilograms.
The 24-year old weightlifter registered 96 kilograms in the snatch category, while she lifted 126 kilograms in the clean and jerk category.
Unsim Rim of North Korea ruled the event after she lifted 111 kilograms in the snatch category, and 140 kilograms in the clean and jerk category for a total lift of 251 kilograms.
Hometown bet Xinyi Pe bagged the silver medal after she finished with a total lift of 234 kilograms.
The Chinese weightlifter registered 104 kilograms in the snatch category, while she lifted 130 kilograms in the clean and jerk category.
The bronze medal of Ando makes up for the fourth place finish of Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz in the women's 59 kilograms weightlifting event.
As of Monday, the Philippines has already won one gold medal, one silver medal, and eight bronze medals in the Hangzhou Games.
