Senator Joel Villanueva revealed on Wednesday during the 'Kapihan sa Senado' that a campaign to besmirch and oust the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Manuel Bonoan is in the works.
According to Villanueva, the campaign to oust the secretary is being funded and supported by a congressman, and is also a contractor, who is interested in replacing Bonoan from the post.
Additionally, the campaign seems to be abundant in social media platforms. WIth this, Villanueva mentioned that he will focus on this issue at hand.
"I don’t think na dapat magresign si Sec. Bonoan, I think he just have to his job," Villanueva said.
"More than anyone I believe, alam nya ‘yung nangyayari. Mas magiging malagim po ang ating sitwasyon kung papalitan natin ng isa pang politiko na kontradista ang ating DPWH secretary," he added.
DPWH is embattled due to the recent widespread flooding experienced in Metro Manila during the wrath of Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon that also affected different regions in the country.
