The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that Typhoon Egay and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) affected almost 3 million people as of August 3.
In its latest situational assessment released Thursday morning, the NDRRMC said that the weather disturbances have affected 781,728 families, or 2,930,200 persons, in Luzon and Visayas.
Based on the report, 288,039 people have been displaced in Regions 1 (Ilocos), 2 (Cagayan Valley), 3 (Central Luzon), and 6 (Western Visayas), as well as Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon).
There are 57,532 displaced persons living in evacuation shelters, while 230,507 are living outside of evacuation centers.
In the NDRRMC's August 3 report, the death toll from the typhoon and southwest monsoon was 27 (only two of which were authenticated), while the number of injured and missing was 140 and 13, respectively.
According to the NDRRMC, which distributed P239,221,853 in aid to impacted households, at least 53,358 houses were partially demolished and 2,228 were badly damaged by the two meteorological disturbances.
