The alleged perpetrator of the killing of radio broadcaster Cris Bunduquin, based in Oriental Mindoro, has surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) last night, June 27, according to Paul Gutierrez, the Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security.

According to Gutierrez, the suspect identified as Isabelo Bautista was joined by his wife when he came forwarded to authorities.

But Bautista denied his involvement in the crime and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigation to shed light on the incident that occurred in Oriental Mindoro on May 31.

Bautista will remain in the custody of the NBI to ensure his safety while the investigation is ongoing.

The possibility of including Bautista's family in the Witness Protection Program is also being considered.

Radio broadcaster Bunduquin was shot dead in front of a store on May 31 by two individuals riding a motorcycle.

The victim's son chased the suspects, leading to the death of one of the suspects, Narciso Guntan.
