Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is scheduled to reappear in the Senate on Monday to delve deeper into her alleged connections with Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
According to Philippine National Police spokesperson Jean Fajardo, Guo will be wearing handcuffs and a bulletproof vest, with police escorts provided to ensure her safety.
Fajardo added that the PNP convoy will depart from Camp Crame at 8 a.m. for the Senate hearing, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Guo, who had fled the country with her alleged siblings Shiela and Wesley on July 17, was apprehended in Indonesia and returned to the Philippines on September 5.
Shiela and their business partner Cassandra Ong were also detained in Indonesia and deported.
Guo, now held at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame following a regional trial court's arrest warrant, faces multiple charges, including human trafficking and money laundering.
Senator Risa Hontiveros, chair of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, successfully petitioned Judge Sarah Vedaña-delos Santos to permit Guo's attendance at the inquiry.
Hontiveros' request was approved, allowing Guo to participate in the continuation of the Senate investigation.
