Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, returned to the Philippines early Thursday morning, September 6, after being deported from Indonesia, where she was arrested.

Guo was escorted by Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rommel Marbil together with other government officials.

Guo arrived at 1:30 AM aboard a chartered flight (RP-C6188) on a private plane that landed at a private hangar at NAIA.

Following her arrival, Guo underwent a booking procedure before she faced the media for a press briefing.

According to a report by Edniel Parrosa, Guo was brought to the Philippine Custodial Center around 3:00 AM after undergoing a medical check-up at Camp Crame.

PNP Spokesperson Jean Fajardo confirmed that Guo is now detained, with strict rules being enforced inside the facility.

Fajardo also stated that after the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reports to the court, it will be up to the judiciary to decide on the next steps. She added that Guo may be brought to the Senate once she posts bail of ₱180,000 for violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Despite being a high-profile detainee, Fajardo emphasized that Guo would be treated like any other prisoner, though additional security measures are in place.

Meanwhile, in a video shared on Abalos' Facebook on Thursday afternoon during his meeting with Guo in Jakarta, Guo can be heard saying, "Sec, patulong. May death threat po kasi ako."

Abalos' full reply was not captured in the video, but he was heard saying, "Kaya nga kami kumuha ng private plane..."

On July 13, the Senate issued a warrant for Guo's arrest after she repeatedly failed to attend the Senate investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban.

Guo is currently facing 87 counts of money laundering and a human trafficking complaint related to the POGO hub raid.
