Alden Richards, once again, set the record straight on the undying rumors surrounding him and former on-screen partner Maine Mendoza.
During an interview with Toni Gonzaga on her YouTube segment "Toni Talks," the 32-year-old actor was asked how he deals with rumors, one of which involves his alleged marriage and love child with Mendoza.
A screenshot of a fan’s comment was flashed on the widescreen television behind Richards and Gonzaga, which claimed to have proof that the former love team got married and had “three kids.”
"Ang daming crazy rumors sa into. At saka yung iba, naniniwalang totoo yung rumors ha. Alam mo yung number one? May anak kayo at kasal kayo. […] Inaddress niyo ba yun? Na may anak kayo?" Toni asked.
In which Alden replied: "Sobrang daming crazy rumors. Meron silang sariling storytelling. And all along, akala ko since na Maine and Arjo Atayde became public and they eventually got married, [akala ko mawawala na] pero nandyan pa rin. I already said my piece about this. It’s not true." answered.
"I already said my piece about this. It’s not true, wala pong katotohanan lahat. Wala po kaming anak. We never got married... We don’t have a love child," he continued.
However, Alden admitted that he had grown tired of calling out the rumor-mongers.
"But right now po, I’m at that point na masaya po sila don eh. Tatanggalin ko pa ba? Ira-rub ko pa ba sa mga buhay nila na ‘wala nga, wag kayong makulit.’ I’m not that kind of person. I always support happiness of people," he said.
The actor also revealed that he had a “heart-to-heart” talk with Mendoza before she wed her now husband, fellow actor Arjo Atayde in July 2022. He did not further expound the topic behind their talk but hinted that he had "told her everything."
"Quite honestly, Maine and I had a heart-to-heart conversation recently, before she got married. Then I told her everything. That at the end of the day, it’s your differences whether you’ll make it or not, and your priorities in life," he said.
In the same interview, Alden also slammed his critics who are questioning his sexuality.
