Alas Pilipinas secured a podium finish in the 2024 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Women.
The Philippine national women's volleyball team dominated Australia, 25-23, 25-15, 25-7, during the bronze medal match on Wednesday, May 28, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum
Angel Canino tallied 14 markers, and Sisi Rondina registered 13 points for the Filipinas to win their first-ever medal in an AVC sanctioned tournament.
The Philippines salvaged their campaign in the AVC Challenge Cup after suffering a three-set loss at the hands of Kazakhstan, 25-23, 25-21, 25-14, in the semifinals on Tuesday, May 28, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Prior the semifinals, Alas Pilipinas bested Australia, India, Iran, and Chinese Taipei in the pool stage.
