The Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) recorded a 57% increase rate in suicide-induced deaths in the country last year, 2020.

From the 31st slot in 2019 suicide climbed up the rank to 25th in the list of reasons why people died.

The PSA has also recorded an increase to 4,420 death caused by suicide in 2020 compared to the 2, 810 in 2019.

House Committee on Social Service Chairman Alfred Vargas filed a resolution to investigate the rising number of suicide deaths and mental health issues in the country.
