Bayugan City Mayor Kirk Asis on Monday disproved a television report that the recovered getaway cars used in the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo were discovered in his city.

Asis claimed that the television report indicated some false information in his report, where it was stated that the three vehicles used by the suspects were recovered in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.

He said that the reporter of the said media network pushed the readers to believe that it could only take less than 16 hours and 32 minutes for the recovered vehicles to travel from Negros Oriental to Bayugan City via the Butuan-Cagayan del Oro-Iligan road.

Meanwhile, police reports indicated that the getaway vehicles were recovered by the authorities in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, not in Bayugan City.
