The Philippines added two more gold medals to their tally in the ongoing Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia.
The 28th gold came from wushu artist Agatha Wong, who secured her fifth gold medal in the women’s taijiquan + taijijian event on Friday.
Wong, a 24-year-old athlete, scored a combined 19.623 points to earn the top spot in the event.
She had previously won gold medals in taijiquan and taijijian events in the 2017, 2019, and 2021 SEA Games.
The 29th gold medal was won by the Philippine Taekwondo team composed of Aidaine Laxa, Jocel Ninobla, and Nicole Labayne in the Women’s Team Recognized Poomsae event.
The win is historic for the Philippines as it is their first gold medal in Taekwondo in the biennial meet.
The gold medal now brings the Philippines' total gold medal count to 29.
