The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is strongly committed to its duty of safeguarding the country's sovereignty amidst emerging challenges in 2024, according to its Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. on Thursday, January 4.
In a statement, Brawner stressed the AFP's unwavering loyalty to the Philippine Constitution and its commitment to fulfill its mandate.
"The men and women of the AFP remain steadfast in their role as the guardians of our nation's sovereignty and defenders of democratic principles," he said.
Brawner reassured Filipinos that their forces would "continue to exemplify the highest standard of professionalism."
"With the strong leadership of our Commander-in-Chief, the AFP will move forward as one, defeating all threats to our peace and national security," said the Chief of Staff.
The AFP had recently concluded its second Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) with the United States Indo-Pacific Command.
The successful joint MCA training was held on January 3 and 4.
