A nationwide face-to-face and online summit for Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) officers and cadets was conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines held on December 3, at Tejeros Hall at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
AFP chief-of-staff Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro was the guest of honor and speaker of the event.
In his speech, Bacarro said the program is not only for marches and physical challenges but also serves as an encouragement for youth leaders.
With its theme, "ROTC Cadets of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow," the summit aims to advocate the promotion of the ROTC and highlight the enhancement of the reserve force of the AFP.
Meanwhile, a historical tour and town hall was held on November 26 at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani in San Juan, Cainta, Rizal as part of the summit's first phase.
It aimed to educate participants about the ROTC's history and its cadets' contribution during World War II, which helped inculcate the significance of history, rekindle patriotism and nationalism, as well as instill the love of country in the participants.
Participants were also given updates on the Revised IRR to Republic Act 9163 or the National Service Training Program Act of 2001, ROTC policies, and the National Citizens Service Training Bill.
