Former Disney actress and singer-songwriter Bridgit Mendler has announced that she is now the mother of a four-year-old boy she adopted.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post on Tuesday, February 20, Bridgit shared that she began as the child's foster parent in 2021 and by Christmas 2022, she adopted him.

"The other news I wanted to share is I’m a mama to a sweet 4 y[ear-]o[ld] boy. Started fostering in 2021 and adopted near Christmas of 2022. I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is[.] [T]hat’s my news for now folks," she said.

The 31-year-old shared a silhouette photograph of her adopted son with her husband, Nolan Feldpausch, standing on a picturesque beach.

Bridgit is known for her role in the Disney Channel original series "Good Luck Charlie" and "Wizards of Waverly Place" and the hit Disney movie "Lemonade Mouth".

She pursued studying after years of acting and releasing music as a solo artist. Bridgit finished her bachelor's degree at the University of Southern California and her master's degree and doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT.

Before announcing that she is now a mom, the "Good Luck Charlie" alumna announced that she is now the chief executive officer and co-founder of a startup called Northwood Space.

"At @NorthwoodSpace we have our sights on building a data highway between earth and space. We are designing shared ground infrastructure from first principles to expand access to space," she said in another X post.

"We have a lot of work ahead of us but that’s the fun part. If you like building quickly and seeing your work deployed in locations around the globe with real impact, we want you at Northwood," Bridgit added.
