

Veteran Filipino actor Robert Francisco Ylagan, popularly known by his screen name Robert Arevalo, died at the age of 85 on Thursday, August 10, due to Parkinsonism complications.
His death was announced by his daughter, Anna Ylagan in a Facebook post.
“Today is the day that the Lord has chosen to take our dearest Papa home. Robert Francisco Ylagan, a.k.a. Robert Arevalo, peacefully passed away today at 10:17 am, Aug. 10, 2023, due to complications from Parkinsonism,” Anna said.
“Although our hearts are broken, we are comforted by God’s promise that He has a place reserved for you in His kingdom in Heaven where all of us who believe in His son, Jesus, will one day reunite,” she added.
Anna said his father will be cremated, and the wake will be held at Arlington Chapels staring this Saturday until Sunday.
“Thank you for all your expressions of love and sympathy. We are deeply touched and grateful,” she said.
In his decade-long career in the entertainment industry, Robert starred in numerous films and television shows.
His recent works were “FPJ's Ang Probinsyano”, “Hanggang Saan”, “Ang Larawan” 2019 film, and “Hari ng Tondo”.
In 1965, Rober won the Best Actor award for the film “Ang Daigdig ng mga Api” at the prestige Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS).
Aside from acting, he also ventured into newscasting. He was the former news anchor of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol and Balita Ngayon.
