Actor-director Ricky Rivero died at 51 years old on Sunday morning, his sister confirmed.

As of this writing, no cause of death has been announced. However, Rivero was said to have had a stroke in May.

In a Facebook post, his sister, Beverly Salvador-Quintela, left an emotional message for her brother.

Rivero began her career as an adolescent performer in the 1980s.

He appeared in the film "Ninja Kids" and was a previous star of "That's Entertainment.

He was one of the directors of the ABS-CBN television series "Mula sa Puso," "Eva Fonda," and "Forevermore" in 2012.

Rivero made news in 2011 when he was stabbed 17 times in his own home and survived by driving himself to the hospital.
