The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) called the surprising reversal of the two environmental activists who allegedly disappeared and were abducted this month as a new ‘plot’ or strategy by the leftist group.

In a report of RH 52 Edniel Parrosa, AFP Spokesman Col. Medel Aguilar said in a statement that such a scheme had been planned by the leftist movement following the embarrassment of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) at its own press conference.

The NTF-ELCAC was saddened and felt betrayed after Jhed Tamano and Jona Castro exposed that they were allegedly forced to submit and sign the promised statement by the military.

Tamano and Castro made the statement in the middle of the NTF-ELCAC press conference in Plaridel, Bulacan, to clarify the government’s statement that they were going back to the movement.

The NTF-ELCAC stood in the position of the 70th Infantry Battalion under Lt.Col. Ronnel Dela Cruz, who allegedly picked up the two by the phone call of their friend, who was identified as alias ‘Ate’ in Guagua, Pampanga.

Earlier, Orion and Bataan Police denied the abduction incident involving Tamano and Castro.

Despite the fact that the Task Force admitted that they were assisted, the press conference was only proof that ELCAC’s intent was good enough to clear the case.
