After making a name for himself in South Korea, Filipino basketball player RJ Abarrientos will test his skills in Japan.
The Shinshu Brave Warriors announced that the 23-year-old basketball player signed up with the team for the 2023-2024 season of the Japan B.League.
"I am very excited for this new journey with Shinshu Brave Warriors and will do my best to win as many games as we can in this season. I can't wait to play in front of our fans and see you soon," Abarrientos said in a statement posted in the website of the Warriors.
Abarrientos played for the Hyundai Mobis in the Korean B.League, where he won the Rookie of the Year award in the 2023 season.
He averaged 3.6 points, 2.7 triples, 4.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in the 2023 season of the Korean B. League.
Abarrientos also suited up for Gilas Pilipinas in the qualifiers for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup and for Far Eastern University Tamaraws in college.
