Let the mothering begin!
ABS-CBN Star Cinema dropped the official trailer of the long-awaited movie "A Very Good Girl" on Wednesday, August 23.
The 1-minute and 37-second trailer gave the audience a quick glimpse of the mother and daughter tandem of Golden Globes Best Supporting Actress nominee Dolly de Leon and Asia's box office queen Kathryn Bernardo.
The dark and comedy trailer opens with Philo, as portrayed by Kathryn, who raise the question, "Why do bad things happen to all good people?".
Molly, a single mother as played by Dolly, then takes Philo into her extravagant and expensive-looking home.
"You're safe now," Molly tells Philo.
The trailer then transitions to scenes wherein Molly and Philo are doing mother-daughter stuff like shopping for fashionable clothes, swimming, dining outside, and having heart-to-heart conversation.
But despite their seemingly beautiful relationship, Philo shows that she is holding a hidden grudge against Molly as she angrily destroys her portraits.
In a confrontational tone, Philo then asks Molly if she thinks she's better than her real mother.
The film’s official poster was also unveiled on the same day.
In the official poster, both Kathryn and Dolly fiercely posed in front of a mirror with their reflection showing in the background.
The "Very Good Girl" is directed by award-winning director Petersen Vargas.
The film will premiere in all cinemas nationwide this September 27.
