MANILA – The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines invites students and parents to join the 9th EducationUSA University Fair to be held on October 9, 3pm to 8pm, at the Atrium of One Ayala Mall, Makati City, calling it the “largest” ever organized by the embassy.
Before arriving in Manila, the EducationUSA University Fair will make a stop at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City on October 8, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Under the U.S. Department of State, EducationUSA functions as a network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories.
According to the US Embassy, “the network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering free, accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information about opportunities to study at accredited higher education institutions in the United States.”
In a news release, the US Embassy confirmed that 43 U.S. colleges and universities will participate in this year’s event, the biggest number of educational institutions joining so far.
US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson expressed her excitement and said that the U.S. can offer a wide range of higher-education opportunities for those participating in the fair.
"We are excited to bring together so many universities in one place," Ambassador Carlson said.
“I encourage you to choose the United States as your destination for higher education abroad. We have thousands of academic programs, world-class institutions, and unmatched flexibility. The United States offers a wealth of higher-education opportunities that you will not find anywhere else in the world,” Carlson added.
During the Fair, participants can expect to interact with representatives of U.S. higher education institutions who can provide with the needed information on specific topics, such as admissions procedures, academic programs, student life, and scholarship opportunities, the Embassy stated.
U.S Embassy consular officers will also offer guidance on the student visa application process, the Embassy added.

The US Embassy reminded the public that admission to the EducationUSA University Fair is free and open to all students, parents, and educators interested in U.S. higher education, though participants are encouraged to pre-register online at educationusa.ph/Fair2024.
