Illustrator Christiana Jade “CJ” de Silva-Ong died on June 18, after suffering two strokes in the ICU.
In a Facebook post by her husband, Wincy Ong, she was remembered through a series of adjectives that molded her as a wife, artist, and daughter.
CJ’s affection in the arts began when she was young, which then continued until the day of her passing. She graduated as magna cum laude from the UP College of Fine Arts, and has since worked endlessly on projects involving advertising and illustration.
Perhaps, her work on the Award-winning children’s book, Ang Ikaklit sa Aming Hardin by Bernadette Villanueva Neri and The Itchyworms’ “After All This Time” album cover remains as her most unforgettable pieces.
Per CJ’s request, the funeral would be a way to celebrate her years filled with things she loved—music, conversations, coffee, and good food.
The wake will be held at the Heritage Park in Taguig from June 20 to 22, while the cremation service will be on the 23rd.
