

The 8th HERO Golf Cup 2025, hosted by the HERO Foundation, Inc., teed off with a purpose on March 7th at the prestigious Camp Aguinaldo Golf Course.
This annual event, which brings together golf enthusiasts from all walks of life, raised funds to support the education of military orphans – children of soldiers who have fallen in service to the nation.
The ceremonial tee-off was a significant moment, graced by esteemed guests, including HERO Foundation President Gen Emmanuel T. Bautista AFP (Ret.), former AFP Chief of Staff Gen Noel S. Clement AFP (Ret.), Camp Aguinaldo Golf Course General Manager Cdr Noel Stephen M. Marzan PN (MNSA), and Bases Conversion and Development Authority Vice President Mr. Ken Peralta. HERO Foundation Executive Director MGen Victor Bayani AFP (Ret.) was also present to oversee the day’s activities.
The event was not only a display of golfing skill but also a testament to the generosity of the participants. With 100% of the proceeds going towards funding the education of orphaned children and the siblings of soldiers who were permanently incapacitated or lost in the line of duty, it was a heartwarming occasion where the golfing community came together to support a noble cause.
Winners and highlights
The competition was fierce, with golfers vying for top honors in several categories. Andy Marino claimed the title of Overall Champion with an impressive net score of 63. In the Ladies Division, Rebecca Reyes emerged as the champion with a remarkable net score of 67.

- Low Gross Champion: Odelon Mendoza (73 Gross)
- Low Net Champion: Billy Goquinco (64)
- Class A Champion: Emmanuel Bello (65)
- Class B Champion: DJ San Juan (66)
- Class C Champion: Vicente Baldoz (68)
Special awards were also handed out, recognizing excellence in different areas of the game:
- Longest Drive: Jason Gapoy (250 yards)
- Accurate Drive: Vincent Cala (1 Grip Length)
- Longest Putt: John Teves (3 Pin Length)
- Nearest to the Pin: Ted Dizon (1 Pin Length)
Golfers were also treated to exciting raffle prizes, courtesy of generous in-kind partners.
