Eight of 14 Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) officers have been seized over the alleged rape of a ninth-grade live streamer in Calamba City, Laguna, early Sunday morning.

The suspects, members of PDEG Special Operations Unit 4A, were arrested by Bacoor City police at around 2:00 a.m. in Camp Vicente Lim, Barangay Mayapa, reported RH 30 Eric Dastas.

The arrest stemmed from an incident that reportedly occurred the day before, at around 7:45 a.m. The victim, alias “Nena,” is an 18-year-old Grade 9 student.

The suspects face charges for violating Republic Act 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law, as well as Robbery in Band.

During the operation, the Bacoor Component City Police Station (CCPS) confiscated eight firearms, a phone, a Toyota Innova with a red plate, a yellow Mio i125 motorcycle belonging to the victim, and two sealed sachets of what is believed to be “shabu” or crystal meth valued at ₱584,000, among other items.

The arrested officers are currently under the custody of the Bacoor CCPS, while relevant documents are being prepared for submission to the City Prosecutor.
