Nine of the 10 detainees who broke out from the Malibay Detention Facility in Pasay City have been recaptured, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Tuesday, April 4.
In its latest report, SPD said that the eight fugitive were arrested at about 7:15 am with the help of the relatives who coordinated with the Pasay Police personnel regarding the information of Carlo Magno Benavidez y Legaspi.
Benavides was detained for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
He will be brought to the Pasay City Police Station (CPS).
Meanwhile, the ninth fugitive identified as Norman Deyta y Punzalan was recaptured, according to Pasay CPS's latest update posted on its Facebook page.
As of writing only one fugitive namely Richard Dela Cruz remains at large.
The SPD is offering a P100,000 reward while the local government unit of Pasay will give P30,000.
On Holy Monday, ten Malibay inmates escaped after three of them managed to break the iron bar of the main facility.
