

At least 8 in 10 Filipinos believed the country was heading on the right path under President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s administration, according to OCTA Research's first quarter study, issued on Saturday,
The non-commissioned poll, conducted from March 24 to 28, indicated that 76% of 1,200 adult Filipinos believed the country was on the right track based on the current administration's policies and initiatives.
Ten percent of respondents disagreed, and 13% were undecided.
Since October 2022, the percentage of adult Filipinos who believe the country is heading on the right path has fallen by 4 to 11 percentage points across significant areas.
The declines vary from 8 to 14 percentage points across socioeconomic classes, with Class ABC experiencing the greatest drop (14 percentage points).
In the first quarter of 2023, the Visayas region had the most significant percentage (87%) of adult Filipinos who believe the country is on the right track, followed by Balance Luzon (77%), Mindanao (75%), and the National Capital Region (59%).
With 19%, the NCR has the highest percentage of adult Filipinos who believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, followed by Mindanao with 15%.
Among socioeconomic levels, Class D has the highest percentage of adult Filipinos (78%) who believe the country is on the right track while Class E came in second (73%).
According to the study, adult Filipinos (80%) in rural areas had a more positive assessment of the country's direction than those in metropolitan areas (71%).
Males are also more confident in the country's direction, with 80% saying so, compared to 72% of women who are optimistic about the country's future.
Respondents with no formal education or only elementary education were more confident in the country's path (83%), compared to those with a high school diploma (76%), vocational training (72%), or college or postgraduate studies (71%).
The face-to-face interview survey had a margin of error of 3% at the 95% confidence level.
