A fire erupted in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City, resulting in the death of a person with disability (PWD) on the morning of Thursday, January 30.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and some relatives of the victim revealed that the fire originated in the victim's bathroom, where an extension cord used by a relative for laundry was plugged in.
Additionally, the 75-year-old victim was reportedly unable to flee the house due to the rapid spread and intensity of the flames.
The fire was raised to the second alarm, with the fire being declared under control at around 10:52 AM and completely extinguished by 11:09 AM.
Meanwhile, in addition to the reported fatality, four individuals sustained minor injuries in the fire and are currently being treated at the hospital.
Ayon kay Fire Superintendent Rowena H Gollod, dinala na sa ospital ang 4 na nasugatan pero minor lamang ang injury nila.
