72 areas across PH under state of calamity — NDRRMC

Seventy-two areas across the country have been placed under a state of calamity due to the massive destruction brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
In a briefing, the NDRRMC said the following areas were placed under a state of calamity:
- Bicol Region
- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao SOCCSKSARGEN
- The whole Maguindanao in BARMM which covers 36 municipalities and cities
- Pigcawayan, Cotabato
Based on Resolution No. 0169-2022, Albay, which is composed of 18 municipalities and cities, is in a state of calamity.
Previously, the NDRRMC recommended placing the country for a whole year under a state of calamity nationwide due to the significant damages of Paeng.
