A 70-year-old woman was arrested by authorities for allegedly killing her house helper, whose body was found on a roadside inside a subdivision in Cabantina, Davao City.
A report from the Davao City Police on Monday identified the victim as Shiela Han-ay Lagsaway, 29, a resident of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental.
Based on the CCTV footage obtained by the police, the victim's employer, Nenita Cepada Pagatpatan, was seen pulling a trolley covered with tarpaulin, allegedly carrying Lagsaway's body. A trail of blood led the police to the home of the said suspect, who was reportedly suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Police said Lagsaway was hit on the head and stabbed in the nose.
Shortly after her arrest, police brought Pagatpatan to a nearby hospital for medical assistance after experiencing shortness of breath resulting in collapse.
The police condemned the crime and vowed to “impose the full force of law on whoever is caught doing an illegal act or crime.”
Lagsaway's loved ones likewise demand justice for her brutal death.
