The Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco reported the arrest of seven fugitives in Las Piñas on Wednesday.

The apprehended individuals were subsequently placed under the custody of the BI after being apprehended by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Among those arrested were four Chinese nationals and three Taiwanese nationals.

Commissioner Tansingco revealed that information was received from their respective countries, indicating that they were wanted fugitives.

“We recently received information from their country that they are wanted fugitives,” said the official.

Consequently, a mission order was issued against them, leading to their arrest on the grounds of being undesirable aliens.

The four Chinese nationals were identified as Zhang Quanbao, Song Tianming, Yu Liming, and Liu Jianxin. On the other hand, the three Taiwanese nationals were named Li Yi Liang, Huang Hsin-Chiang, and Lin Yue Hong.

Authorities uncovered that the Chinese nationals had warrants of detention issued by the Public Security Bureau in China for charges including contract fraud, drug trafficking, telecom fraud, and theft.

Similarly, the Taoyuan and Taichung District Prosecutors Office in Taiwan had issued arrest warrants for the Taiwanese fugitives on charges of fraud and offenses of causing bodily harm.

It was revealed that all seven individuals were allegedly involved in a fraud syndicate operating an online gaming hub in the Philippines.

They will remain in the custody of the BI facility in Bicutan, Taguig, pending deportation proceedings.
