The Bureau of Immigration (BI) let the public know that seven American pedophiles were denied entry into the Philippines as they sought tourist access within the span of only three weeks.

BI Officer-In-Charge Joel Anthony Viado said the US citizens were cut off upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the Mactan Cebu International Airport on different days.

“However, they were immediately denied entry after our primary officers and their supervisors discovered that they are registered sex offenders (RSO) due to their record of convictions for sex crimes they committed against minor victims,” Viado stated in a news release.

The first of these, Dustin Patrick Auvil, aged 57, landed at the NAIA Terminal 3 all the way from San Francisco, California on August 22. He was seized, as in 2006, he was found guilty of molesting a four-year-old girl.

Daniel Russell Eoff, 34, arriving at the same airport on the same day, was excluded after his flight from Tokyo. In 2013, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a six-year-old on the second degree.

Also at the NAIA, 39-year-old Francisco Javier Alvarado was barred from access on August 23 as he had been convicted in 2017 for child pornography. He was in possession of explicit material depicting a child in a sexual act.

The following day, Michael Allen Turner, 41, who had come in from Hong Kong at the Mactan Cebu Airport was also cut off. He was guilty of second degree sexual assault of a minor.

Matthew Thorin Wall, 46, who had flown from Taiwan to the NAIA last August 28 was intercepted by authorities. In 1999, he was convicted for having sexual intercourse with an 18-year-old.

On September 10, William Emil Wanket, 40, was excluded at the NAIA following his arrival from Guam. He was convicted for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.

The convicts were intercepted in accordance with Section 29 of the Philippine Immigration Act, which has outlawed the entry of aliens guilty of crimes involving moral turpitude, Viado said.

“They were all turned away and boarded on the next available flight to their port of origin. And as a consequence of their exclusion, they were included in our blacklist and banned from entering the Philippines,” Viado assured.
