At least seven electrical posts of Manila Electric Company (Meralco) fell at the corner of Quintin Paredes St. and Ongpin St. Binondo, Manila on Thursday afternoon.
Based on the initial report from the Manila Police District (MPD), seven Meralco electrical posts suddenly collapsed at around 1:00 pm.
The fallen electric posts stomped on seven vehicles including an electronic bike and bicycle.
Three individuals reportedly sustained minor injuries and were sent to the hospital for immediate aid.
As of this writing, the cause of the collapse has yet to be identified.
Acting Mayor Yul Servo Nieto immediately visited the site and conducted an inspection along with other authorities.
Interviewed by RH Boy Gonzales, Nieto mentioned that the electric posts are already old.
"Medyo luma na yung mga poste. Siguro gumawa tayo ng liquidation ng mga poste ng Meralco para ma-check natin," he said.
"Medyo mabibigat yung nakakabit sa kanya, kaya pagbasak, nag-domino effect," Nieto added.
The Acting mayor said the Meralco is still confirming the number of households that may have experienced power interruptions due to the incident.
