The death toll from Typhoon #TinoPH has climbed to 66, according to the latest report from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
The figure includes six crew members of a Super Huey helicopter that crashed in Agusan del Sur.
OCD spokesperson Junie Castillo said 49 of the fatalities were recorded in Cebu province alone, while 23 individuals remain missing, most of them from Region 7 or Central Visayas.
According to RH Edniel Parrosa, based on current casualty figures, Cebu is considered the hardest-hit area so far.
Castillo added, however, that final data will still depend on the overall assessment of damage, as the typhoon continues to affect northern Palawan.
The OCD also reported that around 203,000 families, equivalent to about 706,000 individuals, have been affected across MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga.
