More than 600 individuals reportedly sustained injuries amid the high level of unrest at Mayon Volcano, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Monday.
In its situational report issued at 8 AM, NDRRMC said 628 individuals were confirmed injured.
The agency did not disclose further details regarding the specific injuries that a certain person has sustained. But no missing or other casualties were reported.
The NDRRMC also said that the number of affected individuals due to Mayon Volcano has reached 38,961 or 10,146 families.
Of the total number, 5,466 families or 18,892 individuals were displaced inside 28 designated evacuation centers in the Municipalities of Bacacay, Camalig, Ligao, Daraga, Guinobatan, Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, and Tabaco.
Meanwhile, 353 families, or 1,235 individuals are staying with their family members and friends, outside the evacuation centers.
Government agencies had already distributed a total of 73,900 food and non-food assistance worth ₱71,555,306.
The NDRRMC said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) have prepositioned fund and relief stockpile worth ₱3,296,836,163.
Humanitarian assistance worth ₱59,471,066 from the DSWD, the OCD, the local government units (LGUs), the non-government organizations, and other partners is also on standby.
According to the latest update from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), no volcanic earthquake was recorded in Mayon Volcano but the summit crater continues to effuse lava down the slope at a very slow rate in the past 24 hours.
