Magnitude 6.6 earthquake jolts Balut Island in Davao Occidental

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Balut Island in Davao Occidental on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
According to Philvocs, the tremor of tectonic origin hit 434 kilometers east of Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani at 9:39 a.m. with a depth of 122 km.
Although there is no expected damage or tsunami threat, the state seismologists warned of possible aftershocks.
