Six Filipinos from Ukraine have arrived in the country on Friday, February 18 amid the ongoing crisis in the former soviet state, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

In a statement, DFA said the first batch of repatriates arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 onboard a Turkish Airlines flight.

“The Philippine government, through the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, provided funding assistance to the six Filipinos who voluntarily requested to be repatriated to the country," the department stated.

The DFA also assured the public that it is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine’s borders while the Philippine Embassy in Poland remains in touch with the Filipino community in Ukraine.
