Six individuals reportedly died while four others were injured after a tourist bus hit a tricycle in Calbayog City in Samar on Christmas eve, Dec. 24.

According to RH Jimmy Angay-Angay’s report, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Calbayog City said the victims onboard the tricycle came from Brgy. San Policarpio and was traversing Brgy. Matobato when the accident occured.

The tricycle was hit when the driver did not notice a passing bus after it attempted to switch road lanes to avoid a backhoe.

As per the PNP Calbayog City, the youngest of the six victims was 14 years old while the eldest was 31 years old.

The tourist bus and conductor reportedly survived the fatal accident.

The tricycle driver were among those who were critically injured and admitted in a hospital.
