The fifth batch of repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Israel, including the remains of the first casualty on the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 today, November 6.

According to Christian Maño's report in DZRH Breaktime, the repatriated OFWs arrived at NAIA at 3:00 p.m. through AirWays flight EY-424.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provided financial aid to a total of 22 OFWs, including an infant.

"The whole-of-government approach of providing immediate assistance to the OFW returnees is a major directive of the President to aid the OFWs affected by the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict," the DMW said in its Facebook post.

Carried by her OFW sister, Mary June Prodigo, the remains of Mary Grace Cabrera, the first recorded casualty in the arms of the militant group, also arrived today.

Cabrera is a Filipina caregiver who worked in Kibbutz Be’eri and died from the attacks launched by a militant Palestinian group on October 7.
