50 overseas Filipino workers arrived in the Philippines on Monday, November 8, from Lebanon.
The OFWs returned to the country via Emirates flight EK 336 with assistance from the Migrant Workers Office in Lebanon, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said on Thursday, November 7, that a total of 334 OFWs will fly home from Lebanon to the Philippines within the month.
The agency added that 45 OFWs with five dependents will arrive in the Philippines from Lebanon on Saturday, November 9.
As of Friday, DMW said that the Philippine government has repatriated a total of 1,171 Filipinos from Lebanon amidst the ongoing strife in the Middle East.
DMW Sec. Hans Leo Cacdac assured that no Filipino has been killed or injured due to the conflict between Israel and Lebanon.
“Yung report na walang nasaktan o nasawing Pilipino sa hidwaan dun, still stands and we hope it stays that way. We continue our sheltering, repatriation, and monitoring of the situation on the ground," Cacdac said in a statement.
