Quezon City and Antipolo City were struck by separate accidents on Tuesday morning, resulting in injuries to a total of 5 individuals.

According to a report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Sector 4, a Toyota Vios was completely wrecked in a collision with a closed van at the intersection of Ybardolaza Street and Scout Limbaga, Sacred Heart, QC, around 5 a.m.

Among those injured were Germil Buquia, the driver of the Vios, as well as the driver and helper of the van, identified as El Nino Galicia and Jaime Cedilla, respectively.

The van's driver admitted to driving at a high speed when the collision occurred at Ybardolaza.

In a separate incident, around 6:15 a.m., a 12-wheeler truck collided with an LRT-2 post along Marcos Highway in the vicinity of Mayamot, Antipolo City.

The collision was severe, causing the truck's head, which was carrying a load of sand for Antipolo, to become embedded in the LRT post.

Despite the extensive damage, the truck driver, 23-year-old John Emil de Guzman, and his helper, Emart Brian Torres, 25, miraculously survived with injuries, bruises, and contusions.

According to De Guzman, he swerved to avoid a vehicle that suddenly stopped in the middle of Marcos Highway in front of the Vermont Subdivision.

The accidents caused heavy traffic congestion in the affected areas, but fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the LRT-2 post remained intact despite the collision with the 12-wheeler truck.
