Five PH ambassadors in various countries named

Malacañang announced on Monday the appointments of the five officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) who will serve as ambassadors of the Philippines in various countries.
In a press release, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced that Carlos Sorreta has been appointed as the country's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Meanwhile, the following officials have been tapped as ambassadors in various countries:
- Jose Ignacio as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (AEP) to the Republic of India and Nepal
- Maria Angela Ponce as AEP to Malaysia
- Renato Pedro Villa as AEP to Saudi Arabia and Yemen
- Paul Raymund Cortes as AEP to the Portugese Republic as well as in the Republics of Caba Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, and Angola
According to PCO, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos officially appointed the five officials last week, May 11.
