The Land Transportation Office (LTO) reported on Wednesday, Dec. 6, that it apprehended 4,864 motor vehicles a month after the implementation of nationwide “no registration, no travel” policy.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza praised LTO personnel for their “aggressive operations” that exhibited that the agency was serious in urging delinquent vehicles owners to renew their registration.

“Inaasahan ko ang patuloy na agresibong operasyon sa pagpapatupad ng ‘No Registration, No Travel’ policy sa mga susunod pang buwan hanggang mai-rehistro ulit ang 24.7 milyong motor vehicles na target ng polisiyang ito,” said Mendoza.

According to a memorandum, the Cagayan Valley Region recorded the most number of apprehended motor vehicles with 657, followed by Eastern Visayas with 531, and MIMAROPA with 514.

Mindanao recorded a total of 386 apprehended delinquent motor vehicles in Zamboanga Peninsula, followed by Davao Region with 357, and SOCCSKSARGEN with 250.

Metro Manila flagged a total of 251 delinquent motor vehicles.

Mendoza noted that strategic operations would be conducted particularly in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON which recorded the most number of delinquent motor vehicles according to the LTO data.

“So we appeal again to all delinquent motor vehicles to voluntarily renew the registration of their motor vehicles. Huwag na ninyong dagdagan ang inyong problema dahil kapag nahuli kayo, mas malaking halaga ng pera ang babayaran ninyo,” the LTO chief said.

LTO earlier ordered its regional offices to place special priority lanes for delinquent vehicle owners who would renew their registrations.
