A total of 43,813 workers nationwide have successfully undergone the Department of Tourism's (DOT) training on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE).

With this development, DOT is closer to its target of training 100,000 workers this 2023.

In a statement, DOT said that Region 4A (CALABARZON) had the highest number of FBSE trainees with 6,376.

This was followed by Region 11 with 5,788 trainees, Region 3 with 5,783, Region 4B (MIMAROPA) with 3,920 trainees, and lastly the National Capital Region (NCR) which produced 3,742.

“We are very happy to report that, through the combined hard work of the DOT Central and Regional Offices, our trainers, and all of our partners in the public and private sector who have exerted efforts to reach out to the workers in the entire tourism value chain, we are well on our way in achieving our goal of providing FBSE training to 100,000 workers,” DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said.

Last 2022, Frasco first announced that 100,000 Filipino frontline tourism workers would be participating in an aggressive push for tourism education and training.

According to the tourism department, FSBE training was first offered in Ka Inato Restaurant in Puerto Princesa City last year where most food servers and kitchen workers employed are Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The DOT said it ensures that all tourism frontline workers, including PWDs, have access to training programs that are created to give them a baseline for how to provide top-notch services to visitors the Filipino way.
