The Philippine National Police (PNP) Officer Corps welcomed a total of 43 technical professionals among their ranks.
PNP Chief PGen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. administered the oath of office to the newly-appointed police commissioned officers on Wednesday, November 8, in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The 43 technical professionals include six lawyers, eight medical doctors, five psychologists, five dentists, 14 chemists, two geodetic engineers, a medico-legal officer, a priest, and an electronic and communication engineer.
They joined the ranks of the PNP through the Lateral Entry Program for Technical Officers of the national police force.
"These diverse cohorts of professionals, encompassing different technical fields, epitomizes expertise, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serve our nation," Acorda said in a speech during the oath-taking rites.
"The Lateral Entry Program is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation and progess. We acknowledge that to meet the demands of the 21st Century, we must harness the expertise of indivdiuals from diverse fields," he added.
