A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck west of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur, early Tuesday, August 13, as the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

According to PHIVOLCS, the earthquake occurred at 4:58 a.m. and was tectonic in origin, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

The following areas experienced instrumental intensities:

• Intensity II: Dumingag and Molave, Zamboanga del Sur; Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte

PHIVOLCS confirmed that no damage or aftershocks are expected from this earthquake.
