Palisoc also reported that the explosion damaged a total of 21 houses in the barangay.
"Dalawangpu't isang bahay. Makikita ninyo sa side na iyon yung damage, basag-basag yung mga salamin nila. Talagang naglakat yung gamit nila sa loob ng kanilang bahay," the Dagupan City Police Chief told Fajardo in an interview.
The Dagupan City Police's initial report showed that the butt of a used cigarette was left in a warehouse which started the fire.
City Mayor Belen Fernandez assured that those who were responsible for the fire would be held accountable.
"These damages should be shouldered by the person in charge. The government is willing to help. But as of now, hihintayin namin yung report ng city engineer, ofcourse, report ng PNP, report ng Bureau of Fire [Protection], and then come up with a decision. Right now, they should be held liable," Fernandez remarked in an interview with Fajardo.
The Philippine National Police-Explosive Ordnance Division and the Bureau of Fire Protection in Dagupan City have launched an investigation into the incident.
