33 Chinese workers from the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hubs in Bamban, Tarlac, and Pasay City were deported on Thursday.
The Chinese nationals were escorted by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on the day of their departure. Included in the list of deportees is a two-year-old child of one of the workers, born in the Philippines.
Deportees were turned over to the Chinese Embassy personnel, before their flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
PAOCC Spokesperson Winston Casio said that the deported POGO employees were criminal suspects in China, and will be charged upon their arrival.
The Chinese nationals departed for Shanghai, China at around 11:00 AM today.
During President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA), he declared the ban on all POGO operations in the country, starting July 22.
