Vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. estimates that around 30 million Filipino will not get inoculated against the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Galvez made the remark after Dr. Nina Gloariani, chairperson of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) expert vaccine panel, said that people with comorbidities, and children should not receive the COVID-19 vaccine since it may endanger their health.
Galvez, who also serves as the chief implementer of the National Against COVID-19, assured on Sunday, February 7, that the persons with comorbidities, and children will receive the COVID-19 after studies prove that it will be safe for them.
"Once na meron bakuna na nadevelop tayo, na within the end of the year, malaman na ito ay pwede ito sa may commorbidities at complications, kung safe ito sa mga bata, kung safe ito sa mga below 15 years old, babakunahan din natin sila," he said during DZRH's Huntahan.
Galvez stressed that President Rodrigo Duterte wants every Filipino to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for free.
