

Three individuals were confirmed dead in Barangay Fortune, Marikina City, following a six-vehicle collision on Wednesday evening, April 23.
Aside from the fatalities, more than 10 people were injured in the incident, which involved a 10-wheeler trailer truck, two sedans, two jeepneys, and one SUV.
Based on the investigation of Marikina City Rescue 161, the 10-wheeler truck was on its way to a factory when it lost its brakes at around 10 p.m. The truck slid down the road, crashing into and crushing a jeepney and a sedan. The impact caused a chain reaction that affected the other vehicles.
A jeepney driver died in the crash, along with a mother and her child who were in the sedan.
The truck driver is now in police custody and is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.
Meanwhile, authorities have apologized to motorists passing through the area for the inconvenience caused by the incident.
"Paalaala po sa mga motorista natin, palagian po natin itsek ang kondisyon ng ating mga sasakyan para makaiwas po tayo sa anumang aksidente," said Dave David from Marikina City Rescue 161.
