Three individuals were arrested in Pasay City for allegedly selling registered SIM cards, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday, September 19.

In a statement, the NBI said it received information about the individuals identified as Beverly Cruz, Keone Lebumfacil, and Aljon Reyes for selling registered SIM cards on Facebook, which were suspected of being used for fraudulent activities.

These individuals were arrested in separate operations after unintentionally leading the NBI to arrest them.

Based on the reports made by the NBI, an account named ‘Nopce Naldz’ commented on an FB group, saying that he is selling 1,000 pieces of SIM cards, and was arrested after he met up with a poseur buyer at a convenience store in Pasay City.

Lebumfacil and Reyes were nabbed after having a transaction with a poseur delivery rider who picked up the SIM cards.

The NBI reported that a total of 1,023 SIM cards were confiscated, and the three arrested individuals were presented for inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Pasay for violating Section 7 of the SIM Registration Act in relation to Section 6 and Section 4 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
