Three individuals were nabbed for illegally selling registered Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) Cards in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City.
Based on a report by the Southern Police District (SPD) released Friday, at least 40 registered Globe prepaid SIM cards and 37 Smart prepaid SIM cards were seized from Elvies Basilio y Ares and Jomar Colinares y Balintag who are both employees of Hapson Technology during a buy-bust operation on April 6.
Also confiscated are 99 pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money incorporated with two pieces of ₱500 marked money, and a white Toyota Hi-Ace Grandia (PN NAK8667).
The two will be charged for infringement of Republic Act 11934 or SIM Registration Act and Republic Act 10175 or Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
Meanwhile, the third suspect identified as Frankenstein David Santiago y Sollestre was arrested during SPD’s follow-up operation at Hapson Technology.
According to SPD, Obstruction of Apprehension and Prosecution of Criminal Offenders or Presidential Decree 1829 and Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code will be filed against Santiago.
The three suspects are now under the custody of the SPD-Special Operations Unit (SPD-SOU).
